Women feuding over man blame each other for burned vehicles

Two women feuding over the same man has left them both scorned with scorched vehicles and no way to go.
According to the report, on May 29 a Willow Road resident looked outside after hearing a noise and found her silver Ford Taurus ablaze.
Investigator Terry Smith investigated the incident and found that a liquid was poured on top of the car and ignited, according to the report.
Investigator Smith believes that the incident is connected to another case he was investigating from March, where another woman’s car was set on fire.
According to the report, both women are seeing the same man and blame each other for the vehicle fires.
Panola County Deputies investigated 37 other incidents reported to the Panola County Sheriff’s office from May 26 to June 3.
An incident from May 28 led to an arrest for armed robbery as a Williams Street resident reported that a man in a maroon Buick was driving up and down the road shooting a gun out of his window.
As Deputy George Renfroe responded to the scene he was flagged down by another local resident who reported that the suspect robbed his friend at gunpoint and stole his cell phone, according to the report.
Deputy Renfroe located the suspect at an Atkins Road residence.
When questioned about the phone, the suspect stated he didn’t know anything about it. According to the report, the suspect began to act strangely.
Another resident asked Deputy Renfroe to leave so that she could calm the suspect down.
Lieutenant Willie Harris responded and went back to the scene with Deputy Renfroe.
The resident was questioned about a gun and she stated that the suspect was outside hollering and she noticed he had a gun.
She stated she took the gun from him and placed it under her mattress.
Deputy Renfroe recovered the Ruger and checked NCIC (National Crime Information Center) for warrants and found that the gun was stolen from Olive Branch.
The stolen phone was found on the suspect after being searched. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Panola County Jail.
Earlier reports include an incident from May 5, where a Courtland resident requested a welfare check on his wife.
According to the report, the suspect has been depressed and suicidal. Major Barry Thompson was the first on the scene to find the suspect unconscious in her bed.
MedStat transported the suspect to Merit Health E. R. where it was learned that she overdosed on prescribed medication.
According to the report, the suspect is in stable condition.
On May 18, Deputy Jeremy Hailey investigated a domestic assault case where a Chief Drive resident reported that her boyfriend choked her.
According to the report, the boyfriend told her that he didn’t want her or her two and a half year-old daughter living with him anymore.
The resident stated that the suspect began choking her after she questioned his seriousness about wanting her out of the home.
Deputy Hailey investigated another incident from May 18, where a Shiloh Road resident reported that she woke up to a male subject inside her home.
According to the report, the suspect stated he was there to cut the grass. The resident stated that her mom just cut the grass and the suspect ran out of the house.
May 26
• Deputy Mark Lott responded to Hadorn Road where the resident reported that his step-daughter kept coming onto his property after being told not to.
According to the report, the suspect brings friends over to the property without the owner’s permission and things come up missing.
The residents came home to find the suspect in their home with an unknown individual.
After asking the suspect to leave, she hit her step-father in the face and then left, according to the report.
Both residents are filing charges on the suspect for simple assault and trespassing.
• Deputy Dean Jones was dispatched to Tractor Supply to speak with a Pope Water Valley Road resident who stated that an individual destroyed his child’s swing set.
The resident stated that his ex-wife dealt with some unsavory characters and that he is concerned that some of her friend may have done this as a round-about threat against his child.
May 27
• Jones Street, Courtland resident reported to Deputy Jones that the suspect came to her home wanting to fight another resident.
The resident explained that her son’s girlfriend lives with them and that the suspect, the mother of his child, wanted to fight his girlfriend over the resident’s son.
• Eureka Road resident reported to Deputy Renfroe that the suspect came to her home cursing at her.
According to the report, the resident began collecting items to stay at another location but the suspect stated that he was going to leave.
Deputy Renfroe followed the suspect to his vehicle. The suspect drove off spinning tires and slinging rocks into Deputy Renfroe’s police unit, according to the report.
Deputy Renfroe got in his unit to pull the suspect over but wan unable to locate him.
As Deputy Renfroe arrived back at the residence the suspect was pulling back up.
The suspect was placed in custody and transported to the Panola County Jail.
• Highway 51 North, Sardis resident reported that his neighbor cut down some trees and left them on his property.
The neighbor reported to Deputy Renfroe that there is a discrepancy over the property line.
Deputy Renfroe advised both subjects that this is a civil matter that needs to be handled in court.
May 28
• Investigator Jimmy Shannon spoke to an individual at Bilbo’s on Highway 6 West who reported that he dropped his wallet at the store.
According to the report, the individual learned the identity of the suspect after watching the store’s surveillance footage.
Investigator Shannon is continuing the investigation.
• Belmont Road, Sardis resident reported to Deputy Renfroe that she was concerned something might have happened to her ten year-old grandson due to his behavior.
Deputy Renfroe contacted Investigator Bryan Arnold , who stated that he would follow up on the investigation, according to the report.
• Deputy Renfroe investigated another case where a Deer Creek Road resident stated “my nephew’s gone off the deep end!”
According to the report, the suspect drug the victim out of a truck as she was trying to go to work and forced her back into the home.
Upon arrival, Deputy Renfroe witnessed the victim running out of the house and the suspect chasing her.
After continuous efforts to escape the suspect was arrested and charged with simple domestic violence.
• Roberson Lane resident reported to Deputy Renfroe that an individual was trespassing and disturbing the peace.
Deputy Renfroe arrested the suspect and placed her in the back seat of his caged unit.
According to the report, the suspect removed one of her handcuffs, let the window down and exited the vehicle.
Deputy Renfroe caught the suspect after a foot chase.
According to the report, Deputy Renfroe located two alleged Xanax pills in the suspects vehicle before it was towed.
May 29
• Deputy Renfroe spoke to a Tom Floyd road, Como resident who stated that the suspect came to her home to pick up her boyfriend’s kids and attacked her, hitting her in the left eye with a can of hairspray causing the resident to need ten stitches.
• Deputy John Still was dispatched to Abe Chapel Road, where the victim reported that her boyfriend took her cell phone.
Deputy Still went to the supsect’s residence to get the phone, but the suspect refused to answer the door, according to the report.
• Shiloh Road, Courtland resident reported to Lieutenant Willie Harris that someone tried to break into his home.
The resident stated that his wife returned home and noticed the frame on the door had been tampered with.
• Letha Wiley Road, Sardis resident reported to School Resource Officer Roger Salter that she was assaulted.
According to the report the victim was assaulted as she walked to her car.
• An employee with AllStar wrecker service reported to Investigator Smith that he was trying to reposses a blue Chevy Malibu when two women pulled up and began arguing with the employee.
According to the report, the suspect began taking things from the car and then got a gun out forcing him to unhook the vehicle from the truck.
The employee stated that the suspect took off in the car and appeared to be extremely intoxicated.
Investigator Smith issued a “be on the look out” for the Chevy Malibu.
May 31
• Collins Drive, Sardis resident reported to Investigator Smith that two men left his home carrying his 32” TV.
According to the report, the suspects assaulted the resident when he attempted to stop them.
The suspects were identified and Investigator Smith located one suspect at a residence on Henry Heafner road.
According to the report the suspect is a convicted felon and was in possession of a shotgun.
The suspect denied the allegations and was transported to the Panola County Jail for further investigation.
• Deputy Hailey spoke to a Lamar Thomas Road resident who stated that his girlfriend busted his 32” TV and left after he broke up with her.
• Deputy Mark Lott received a call for a welfare check and discovered a greenhouse that was being used to grow marijuana on McNeely Road, Courtland.

• Crouch Road resident reported to Deputy Maurice Market that the suspect was threatening to do bodily harm to him and his wife and continued to state that the suspect ran him off the road.
• Deputy Jones took another report regarding the same incident investigated by Deputy Market.
The individual stated that there has been an ongoing problem between them and the suspect.
The resident reported that he and his wife were driving on Crouch Road when he noticed the suspect speeding down his driveway in an attempt to hit them.
According to the report, the resident had to swerve to avoid a collision.
The resident stated that the suspect and a friend drove by their home flipping them off and making threats to their son.
• Belmont Apartments, Sardis resident reported to Lieutenant David Mills that her boyfriend was texting her, threatening to do bodily harm.
June 1
• Debowen Wilson Road resident reported to Investigator Danny Beavers that someone used her debit card in the amount of $11.09 and attempted to use it at Kroger in Olive Branch in the amount of $305.95 but was declined.
According to the report, the bank flagged the card and a new card was issued.
• Deputy Hailey spoke to a Woods Road, Pope resident who reported that an individual took back a rim that he was in the process of selling.
• Investigator Smith spoke to a Highway 51 South, Pope resident whose house caught fire.
According to the report, the resident was camping in Grenada because they placed some de-foggers off inside the home.
A neighbor saw the fire and called it in. According to the report, the home was completely destroyed.
• Woodruff Road resident reported to Deputy Renfroe that the suspect drove her vehicle in the resident’s driveway and almost ran him and his daughter over.
• Deputy Emily Griffin spoke with an individual on John Branch Road who stated that the suspect keyed the passenger side of his blue Ford truck while Deputy Griffin was attempting to keep the peace at the location for a previous call.
• Parks Place Road, Como resident reported to Deputy Hailey that his ex-girlfriend came to his home and broke the rear glass out of his vehicle with a perfume bottle.
June 2
• Deputy Hailey investigated a domestic violence call on Jones Road where the victim was physically thrown from the house and hit in the head, according to the report.
The victim stated that she went to the home after learning that the suspect took all of her money out of her account.
• Investigator Smith spoke to an individual at Love’s Truckstop who stated that she took her children to see their father, but left after the father became argumentative, loud and threatening, according to the report.
The individual stated that the suspect posted her number and derogatory names, such as “deadbeat mom”, on social media.
According to the report, this has resulted in many of the suspects friends and family members calling her and harassing her.
• Mallard Point road resident reported to Lieutenant Kelvin Taylor that her husband has been threatening her and her family.
According to the report, the suspect was upset after the resident put their son in Parkwood.
• Lieutenant Willie Harris investigated a dog complaint on Sardis Lake Drive where a woman was walking north on the road when two dogs, a bull dog and begal, attacked her, according to the report.
• Pope WaterValley Road, Pope resident reported to Investigator Beavers that a great dane came into his yard and attacked his dog.
The resident stated that he shot the dog to keep it from killing his dog and offered to help pay part of the vet bill.
