RedMed comes out on top in 8u Dogtag

After a long three-game stretch, J. P. Hudsons’ RedMed came out on top as they took first place over Batesville Vision Clinic in the Dogtag Tournament Thursday night. RedMed run-ruled Batesville Vision with a final score of 13-4.
The game began withRedMed scoring four runs as Abby Scipper, Grady Beck Wilson, Presley Gammel and Cadie Coker crossed the plate. Two more runs were scored in the second as Lynnly Nicholson, sub player from Batesville Dental Clinic, scored followed by Wilson.
Batesville Vision scored its first run in the bottom of the second as Mallorie Tisdale and Eden Montgomery crossed the plate. In the third, RedMed was unable to score after Batesville Vision’s first baseman made an unassisted double play by catching a fly and tagging first before the runner could make it back to the base. Batesville Vision’s Riley Little scored another run in the bottom of the third.
Nicholson, Gammel, Coker and Georgia Phillips scored four more runs for RedMed in the fourth. Batesville Vision scored their final run in the bottom of the fourth as Callie Burkes crossed the plate.
In their last bat, RedMed scored three runs as Nicholson, Scipper and Wilson reached home. RedMed sealed the win after a three up three down inning claiming first place in the Dogtag Tournament.

Hallmark Ford 13
In RedMed’s first game of the night they faced Hallmark Ford in a close game. Hallmark Ford started off slow with only one run in the first inning, followed by five runs scored by RedMed. RedMed scored another two runs in the second after Hallmark Ford struggled to produce runs.
Hallmark Ford began to battle in the third, as Harlee Kate Crumpler, Makenzie Houston, Anabel Munoz, Siena Cabrera and Kaleigh Cobb scored. Holding RedMed to their seven runs, Hallmark Ford continued to score in the fourth. Gabbi Woodal, Crumpler and Heafner scored three more runs. RedMed answered with four runs of their own.
In the fifth, Hallmark scored another run followed by RedMed’s three. In their final bat in the top of the sixth, Hallmark battled, needing four runs to stay in the game. They managed to score three and attempted a fourth, but the runner was tagged at the plate for the third out ending the game with a 13-14 score.

Bim Bam Burgers 11
Batesville Vision also played a close game against Bim Bam Burgers. Both teams produced powerful hits and multiple runs. In the first, both teams scored two runs. Bim Bam scored another run in the second as Mari Benson crossed the plate. Batesville Vision took the lead with three runs.
Bim Bam produced three runs in the third as Brylee Barragan, Amory Mccullar and Benson reached home. Avery Smith, Emma Neth, Anna Dover and Callie Burkes scored four more runs for Batesville Vision. The fourth inning remained scoreless. Bim Bam players Benson, Libby Jenkins and Gracie Jenkins scored in the fifth.
In the final inning, Bim Bam scored two more runs as Benson and Gracie Jenkins crossed the plate. In the bottom of the sixth, Batesville vision trailed by two, 11-9. Batesville Vision took the lead with three runs as Callie Burkes crossed the plate giving her team the win.
RedMed 14, Wade Inc. 8
Wade Inc. lead on offense with three runs scored in the first. RedMed answered with three runs of their own. RedMed held Wade to one run in the second with a double play. RedMed took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the second. The third inning remained scoreless and Wade continued to struggle on offense into the fourth. RedMed increased their lead with four runs in the top of the fourth. Wade attempted to catch up in the fifth with four runs. RedMed ensured themselves the win as they scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth. The game was called as Wade was unable to catch up leaving the final score at 14-8.
