Yankees, A’s improve to 2-0 with big wins

Fours were definitely wild as the first full week of the American Legion baseball season got underway Tuesday with a pair of games.
In the second contest of the night, the A’s scored four runs in the first, third and fifth innings to improve their record to 2-0 with a 12-4 victory over the Red Sox. Bowen Williams and Max Dunlap provided singles in the winning cause. The Red Sox, (0-2) plated all of its runs in a four-run fourth inning to avoid the shutout.
In the opening game of the day, the Yankees eased past the Royals 9-1 to up their record to 2-0 on the young season. Caleb White tripled and scored two runs while Drake Barton doubled and singled and also scored a pair of runs in the winning effort. Brady Darby registered a single for the Yankees.
Dalton Barefoot singled and plated the Royals lone run in the first inning. KeShaun Lantern and Dre’ Moore also provided singles.
