Information sought on wallet stolen at Walmart

By John Howell
Batesville police need your help identifying the person who is suspected of taking a black wallet that had been left in a shopping cart at Walmart April 22.

The victim told police that “she left her black wallet in a basket… and when she returned it was gone, patrol officer Tress Lamb’s report states. The wallet contained cash from a recently received tax refund, the victim’s driver’s license, Social Security card, bank credit card, Eppi debt card for child support and Medicaid card.

The victim told Lamb that she parked her red Chevrolet Cruz near the handicapped spaces at the store’s northeast entrance, left the basket near the spot as she unloaded her purchases, drove away about 4:45 p.m. that Friday afternoon, soon discovered that she had left her wallet and returned by 5 p.m. to find the shopping cart but no wallet.
