Tourism bill awaits signing by governor
House Bill 1587 extending Batesville’s three percent tourism tax has passed the Senate, Senator Gray Tollison announced Saturday morning.
The bill will now pass to the governor who is expected to sign the legislation that will extend the tourism tax until 2023, the date Batesville city officials had lobbied for.
The three percent tourism tax is levied on food and lodging bringing to the City over $1 million a year in revenue.
