Bobbie Lee Ellis
BATESVILLE––Bobbie Ellis, 77, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Golden Living Center.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ellis, born Feb. 18, 1938, to the late James and Ida Turner Ellis in Gurthrie, Ky. served in the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW of Hernando.
Survivors include: two daughters, Angela and Lori Ellis both of San Diego, Calif.; one son Timothy Ellis of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers Doug Ellis of Kentucky, Jack Ellis of Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made in Bobbie’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
Charles S. “Buck” Holley
BATESVILLE – Charles S. “Buck” Holley, 71, died Friday, February 12, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from noon until service time. Rev. Charles Lipe and Tim McMillen will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Holley, born Dec. 29, 1944, to the late George Levi and Earline McLendon Holley, in Panola, served in the National Guard. He was a 22 year employee of Heafner Motor’s in Batesville. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Goodwin Holley of Batesville; one daughter Cynthia Stiles of Pontotoc; two sons, Chuck Holley of Batesville and Timothy Hill of Oxford; one brother, George Holley of Senatobia; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Lillian Millsaps
Lillian Millsaps, 89, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Yalobusha General Hospital.
Services were held Monday at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at Carey Springs Cemetery in Pontotoc. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
Millsaps, born to the late Ethel and Katie Simmerman, was the retired owner of Lillian’s Beauty Shop in Marks and a member of Crowder Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Millsaps.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cancer Society.
James “Jimbo” Louis Stovall
BELEN – James “Jimbo” L. Stovall, 63, died Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Quitman County Hospital.
Services were held Monday at Belen Baptist Church. Burial was held at Belen Cemetery. Mike Smithey officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Stovall, born August 30, 1952 to the late James Edward Stovall and Emma Janette Elliott Stovall in Marks, was a welder and was employed with Stephens-Adamson for 30 years. He was a member of Belen Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 27 years, Ruthie Stovall of Belen; three children, Sara Stovall Fuller of Fayetteville, Ark., Matt Stovall of Belen, Daniel Stovall of Memphis; siblings; Vickie Jennings of Duck Hill and Mike Stovall of Belen and one grandchild.
The family ask for those wishing to send memorials in his name to please do so to Belen Baptist Church, 2191 Hwy 316, Marks, MS 38646.
Samuel Wayne Tidwell
BATESVILLE––Samuel Wayne “Sam” Tidwell, 32, died Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at noon at Wells Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Mark McNair will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Tidwell, born February 1, 1984 in Oxford to Stephen Wayne Tidwell and Rolanda Leppic Tidwell of Batesville, served in the National Guard and did a tour in Iraq. He graduated from the Camp Shelby Youth Challenge and went on to finish at Coahoma Community College in the Culinary Arts Program. He was employed as a chef at Bacchus On The Square in Oxford. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church.
Survivors, along with his parents, include: sisters; Jennifer Tidwell Chrestman of Batesville, Connie Tidwell Spangler of Pontotoc; and one brother; Shelby Dean Tidwell of Mayhew.
Agnes Lorene Watson
POPE––Agnes Lorene Watson, 85, died Monday, February 15, 2016, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
