Ardith Jean Byrd
BATESVILLE–Ardith Jean Byrd, 50, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Born in Fort Knox, Ky., Mrs. Byrd had lived in the Batesville area for many years. She was a homemaker. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Byrd of Batesville; two daughters, Rachel Byrd and Jennifer Johnson both of Batesville; one son, Jeremy Byrd of Courtland; her mother, Maxine Perkins of Tillatoba; two sisters, Debbie McFadden of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Karen Chambers of Tillatoba; six grandchildren.
Her father, Jefferson Pruett, preceded Mrs. Byrd in death.

Ronald Dean Gibson
Ronald Dean Gibson, 53, of Como, MS passed away on September 21, 2015 at his home in the Harmontown community. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Agency Christian Church in Agency, MO. Mr. Gibson is survived by his mother, Pauline Gibson; three daughters, Jenny Gibson, Christina Gibson and Renae Gibson; three sisters, Teresa, Tammy and Brenda; four brothers, Frank, David, Dennis and Ray, all of Agency, MO; and his fiancé Carol Shaw of Como. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin “Bud” Gibson, one sister, Jackie Sue and one brother, Richard. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015, at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home – Sardis Chapel. Burial will follow in McGeeHees Chapel Cemetery in Como. Visitation will precede the funeral services at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. Memorial contributions, may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Sardis has charge of arrangements.
Ruby Lee Herring
BATESVILLE–Ruby Lee Herring, 80, died September 27, 2015 at her daughter’s home near Courtland. She was the widow of Roy Kenneth Herring.
Funeral services for Mrs. Herring will be Wednesday, September 30 at 11 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Raymond Aven and Reverend James Strange will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home from 5 to 8.
Born July 30, 1935 to the late Grover Cleveland Bradley and Nanny Mae Lewallen Bradley in Crenshaw, she retired from Walmart where she worked as a sales associate. She was a member of New Hope Church of God in Batesville.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina Watts of Pope and Miranda Citrone of Batesville, and her siblings, Grover Bradley of Courtland, Willie Mae Moore of Oakland, and Gladys Wells of Senatobia; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby Lee was preceded in death by one daughter, Melinda Gayle Griffin.

Edna Louise Tidwell
Edna Louise Tidwell, 88, passed away Saturday at Golden Living Center in Batesville. She was the widow of James Burford Tidwell Sr.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home with burial in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Hal Johnson will officiate the services. Visitation will begin at noon before the service. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Tidwell was born February 10, 1927 in Panola County to the late Oscar Wallace Henry and Isbelle Johnson Henry. She was a member of the Courtland Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Belle Haire of Batesville; three grandchildren, James Michael Haire of Batesville, James B. Tidwell III (Joanne) of Malvern, PA, and Ann Tidwell of Texas; three great-grandchildren, Lily M. Tidwell and Emma C. Tidwell, both of Malvern, PA; special nieces, Jimmie Williams (Travis), Billie Poole (Art) and Shirley Potts (Larry Wayne).
She was preceded in death by one son, James “Jim” Tidwell Jr.; two sisters, Lois Boyette and Lillie Mae Joyner; four brothers, George Henry, James Wallace Henry, T.J. Henry and Leon Henry.
Lyda Jo Brewer Vick
BATESVILE–Lyda Jo Brewer Vick, 84, died Saturday morning, September 26, 2015 at Oxford Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Vick was the widow of the late Arthur “Jack” Vick.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from noon until service time. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park.
Born May 17, 1931 in Panola County to the late Walter and Mary Lakey Brewer, she was a retired factory worker and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Vick Hudson of Batesville; son, Arthur “Bubba” Vick of Memphis; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
