Batesville’s fireworks display which was rained out on the Fourth of July will blast off the Labor Day weekend Friday night at the Batesville Civic Center. Mayor Jerry Autrey last week confirmed that the show will go on, starting at 7 p.m. with music by local band Class Act. The fireworks will begin at 8:30 p.m.

Food and beverage concessions will be available. Admission is free. Those attending should bring lawn chairs, but leave coolers and pets at home.

Sponsors with the City of Batesville are: Caldwell Insurance, Dunlap and Kyle Co., First Security Bank, Heafner Motors, Zaxby’s, Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association, and Treasurer Loans of Batesville and Sardis.

The long-range forecast calls for clear skies Friday night.
