Felix Lamar Davis
PONTOTOC – Felix Lamar Davis, 85, died Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Pontotoc Extended Care Facility in Pontotoc.

Services were held  Monday at Woodland Baptist church with Bro. Justin Varnon and Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

He was born on July 1, 1929, in Pontotoc to the late George Washington and Lela Belle Matthews Davis. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and was an EMT until he retired.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Leona Davis; two sons, Danny Lamar Davis and Eddie Dean Davis; great grandsons, Coby Jay McKnight and Christopher Campopiano.

Survivors include: four daughters, Betty McKnight, Carolyn Crocker, Julie Crouch and Brenda Pilkington; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Annie Rae Franklin, Marie Kennedy, Mabel Taylor and Linda Butler.

William Steve Harmon
WATER VALLEY–William Steve Harmon, 57, died June 10, 2015. He was born to the late Joseph Vardaman and Mava Lee Harmon on February 17, 1958.

He was married to Charlotte Bradley Harmon on March 28, 2014. He was a member of Troy Baptist Church.

  Services were  Saturday, June 13 at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. Murphey Eubanks officiating. Burial was in the Eddington Cemetery. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

  Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Bradley Harmon; children Amanda Lassiter of Walls,  Kelly Harmon of Coldwater,  Sky Harmon of Tupelo, and Will Harmon of Tupelo; stepchildren Ginger Tolison and Scottie Morrow; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Melba Tingle; two brothers, Joe Harmon and Tom Harmon, both of Pontotoc.

Ellis Young Lloyd
BATESVILLE––Ellis Young Lloyd, 66, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Merit-Health-Batesville.
Serviceswill be held today at 11:00 a.m. at Viney Creek M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. Ozine Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Viney Creek Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Batesville has charge.

Lloyd, born to late Oliver Lloyd and Sarah Lois Lloyd, was a member of Viney Creek M.B. Church. He was retired from Muscle Shoals in Batesville.

Survivors include: one son, Jerry Lloyd of Memphis; two sisters, Ola Clark and Sarah Brown both of Batesville and one granddaughter.

Carl Robert Orr
COMO––Carl Robert Orr, 60, died March 2, 2015.

Memorial services were held Saturday at Como Friendship Cemetery.

 Orr, born in Memphis, was a graduate of the Columbia Military Academy, The University of Mississippi and Rutgers University’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking.  Following a successful banking career in New Orleans, spanning several decades, Carl retired from J.P. Morgan Chase Bank.  For the last several years, he took great interest and pleasure in managing his family’s farming interests in Como.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wardlaw Orr, Sr. and stepmother, Buford “Bea” Morris Orr

Survivors include: his wife of 27 years, Elise Johnson Orr; mother, Carol Heyer Smith, stepfather, Charles Rodney Smith M.D.; siblings Robert Wardlaw Orr  Jr., Rodney Wilson Smith M.D. and Helen Smith Guidry.

Carl enjoyed becoming reacquainted with his friends in Como over the last several years as he cared for his father and managed the farm. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Society of St. George, past member of the New Orleans Country Club, board member of The New Orleans Opera Association.

The family requests memorials to Como United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 277, Como, MS. 38619-0277; The Friendship Cemetery Association, c/o Charles Jackson, 11003 Covington Way, Oxford, Miss. 38655, or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Caley Caleah Presley
AUBURN, Ala.––Caley Caleah Presley, 5, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at Alabama Children’s Hospital. She was the daughter of Lacey Corley of Courtland and Cyndi Presley Barton of Auburn, formerly of Batesville.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church. Dr. Zannie Leland Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home in Batesville.

Presley, born Feb. 18, 2010, in Oxford, graduated from Head Start in Boykin, Ala. and would have started kindergarten in the fall.

Survivors in addition to her parents include: grandparents, Shepreta Presley Watson of Batesville, Randy Presley Sr. of Houston, Texas and grandfather, Lacey Williams of Courtland; great-grandmother, Jewel Bursey of Olive Branch; great-great-grandmother, Annie Butler of Batesville; three brothers, Tredrick L. Hines Jr. and Tre’Darious L. Hines, both of Courtland and Rashun Corley of Memphis and four sisters, Cerenity G. Presley of Batesville, Lamisha Corley, Lacey Corley and Shuntri Corley, all of Courtland.
