Candidates must file financial reports

By John Howell
Candidates seeking nomination as their party’s nominee in the August primaries are reminded that state election laws require timely filings of reports of receipts and disbursements.

The reports are required regardless of whether money has been received or spent.

According to the 2015 Report of Receipts and Disbursements in the office of the Panola County Circuit Clerk, the following Democrat or Republican party candidates for local offices have not yet filed reports: James Birge, Mike Wilson, William Pride Jr., Buck Harris, Boyce “Crow” Crowell, Ken Williams, Roger Vanlandingham, John O. Greene, Charlie Baglan, Jerry Perkins and Mike Darby.
