Five defendants bound over to grand jury in city court session

Judge Bill McKenzie referred five defendants to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court Wednesday. 

Landon W. Lawrence, 21 Duke Rd., Pope, was bound over to the grand jury for grand larceny.
Derrick D. Fondren, 1078 Rockhill Rd., Sardis, was bound over to the grand jury for possession of controlled substance with intent.

Everica Williams, 299 Pamplin Rd., Charleston, was bound over prior to court for domestic violence-aggravated assault.

Anthony Sims Jr., no address given, was bound over prior to court for two counts of grand larceny and two counts of petit larceny.

Desmond Lester, 317-A Patton Lane, Batesville, was bound over prior to court for two counts of grand larceny and petit larceny.

Roderick T. Hollingsworth, 512 Ferguson Ave., Cleveland, failed to appear to answer charges for shoplifting-second.

Lamario D. Sanford, 807 Old Taylor Rd., Oxford, failed to appear to answer charges for DUI-second and domestic violence.

Earl Taylor Jr., 12374 Hwy. 310 West, Como, was fined $1,855 for DUI-refusal, no driver’s license, careless driving and no proof of insurance.

Willie Small Jr., 124 Lake Inn, Sardis, failed to appear to answer charges for DUI-second, driving while license suspended, no seat belt, no proof of insurance and leaving scene of accident. Alright Bonding was notified.

Brian C. Merrell, 200-D Leonard St., Batesville, entered the city’s work program for 25 days in lieu of paying $1,493 for old fines that have been due since April 2006.

Garry Cox, 74 Sherwood Dr., Batesville, entered the city’s work release program for 20 days in lieu of paying $1,131 in old fines due since September 2014.

Lekedrick Flowers, 8492 Hwy. 35 South, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to open container and driving while license suspended. He was fined $708.

Eddie J. Jackson, 8221-A Curtis Rd., Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to public profanity. A trial was set for May 6.

Carlton B. Raynor, 8417 Curtis Rd., Batesville, paid $683 in full for possession of marijuana in a vehicle.

Samuel Long, 1024 Central St., Jackson, was fined $1,146 for shoplifting from Walmart.
Gilbert McThunel II and Courtney McThunel, 772 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, were both fined $417 for domestic violence-simple assault. The two are siblings.

Nicholas Pittman, 870 Plum Rd., Grenada, was fined $1,793 for disorderly conduct-failure to comply and shoplifting.

James E. Turner, 13 Ramsey Circle, Sardis, was fined $443 for simple possession of marijuana.
Carolos D. Brooks, 1539 Pope Crowder, Enid, entered a guilty plea to possession of marijuana in a vehicle and careless driving. He was fined $848.

Kenneth Wooten, 110 Raybon St., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. He was fined $443.

Demont L. Sturgill, 2908 Beatly St., West Memphis, Ark., entered a guilty plea to simple possession of marijuana. He was fined $443.

Marsell Edwards, 418 Juanita St., Sardis, was fined $1,740 for simple possession of marijuana, simple possession of controlled substance and old fines of $854 due since July 2014.

Lashuna S. McMiller, 98 Will Stewart Rd., Batesville, had a trial set for May 6 for disorderly conduct -failure to comply.

She also had old fines of $987 due since February 2015. She was told to have her fines paid in full by the trial date.

James Gross, 105 Lester St., Batesville, had a case for disturbing the peace dismissed after the affiant, Earline Toliver failed to appear to prosecute.

Mance Williams, 278-B Ruby Rd., Courtland, had a case for disturbing the peace dismissed after the affiant, Peter Hill failed to appear to prosecute.

Samarra Cauthen, 278-B Ruby Rd., Courtland, had a simple assault charge withdrawn at the request of the affiant.

The affiant asked that the defendant just leave her daughter alone.

Kalbreanna Milan, 209-B Deaton St., Batesville, had a case dismissed for domestic violence-simple assault after the affiant, Kendron Faulkner failed to appear to prosecute.

During a case set for trial Michael A. King, 114 Williams St., Batesville, had a careless driving case dismissed after he told the judge he was trying to go around potholes.

Alisha Lantrip, 447-A John Branch Rd., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to two counts of shoplifting from Walmart and Dollar General. She was fined $2,292.

Marjarvin Chapman, 2791 Shiloh Rd., Courtland, was fined $347 for disorderly conduct-failure to comply.
