North Panola High School was one of five in Mississippi recognized by the Mississippi Department of Education for the Champion of Change Award and received a check for $23,750 last week in Jackson.
The recognition comes from MDE because of closing the achievement gap between black and white students in the studies of English Language Arts and math for two consecutive years according to Principal Jamone Edwards.
“This award is only possible because of outstanding teachers, dedicated students, committed parents and supportive administrators,” Edwards said.
