Cougar teams place at powerlifting meet

Charleston held a powerlifting tournament last weekend and the North Panola girls placed third as a team. The North Panola boys placed fourth as a team.
For the girls, Destiny Sanders placed first in the 123-pound class.
Getting second place finishes were Latejiah Ruffin, 132-pound class; Princess Wilbourn, 148-pound class; and Kerlicia Ozeomena, 181-pound class.
Kiara Lowe earned a fourth place finish in the 97-pound class and Ke’Ancelar Birge placed fourth in the 148-pound class.
Bringing home first place ribbons for the boys were Derian Ferrell in the 308-pound class and Kennard Lyons in the Super Heavyweight Class.
Also placing were Jaylon Gibson, third, 275-pound class; Kordariel Preston, fourth, 220-pound class; and Donyavious Banks, fifth, 148-pound.
The girls will be participating in the district meet at Charleston on February 5, starting at noon.
Boys district tournament will be held at Charleston, Saturday, February 7 at 10 a.m.
