Jimmy Dickens Jr.

BOSTON–Batesville native Jimmy Dickens Jr., 59, died October 19, 2013 at Boston Medical Center. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2 at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Zannie Leland officiating. Burial will be in Batesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.

Mr. Dickens was born April 22, 1954 in Sardis to Ardean Key Barber of Batesville and the late Jimmy Dickens Sr.

He was a janitorial engineer and a member of Coleman Chapel Church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: three sons, Andre Sanders of Lynn, Mass.; Antonio Hardway and Jimmy Dickens III, both of Boston; five brothers, Terry Dickens of Omaha, Neb.; George Dickens of Clarksdale; Wardell Barber Jr. of Boston, Cordell Barber and Wardell Lynn Barber, both of Blytheville, Ark.; three sisters Carolyn Williams of Chicago, Varlie Stringer of Des Moines, Iowa, and Diane Barber of Batesville; one grandchild.

Lena Belle Martin Hardy

BATESVILLE–Lena Belle Martin Hardy, 93, a former resident of Batesville, died October 28, 2013 at Emeritus Assisted Living in Cordova, Tenn.

Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Hal C. Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hardy was born in Enid on July 22, 1920 to the late John David Martin and Eva Lena Covington Martin.

She attended Leawood Baptist Church and was a retired salesclerk for Sears.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T.H. Hardy.

Survivors include three daughters, Dale Casey and Sandra Kinsey, both of Cordova, Tenn., and Donnie Jarrell of Brighton, Tenn.; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Ruby Hall Henderson

BATESVILLE–Ruby Hall Henderson, 53, died October 19, 2013 at her home. Graveside services were held October 29 at Batesville Cemetery. Eddie Robison Funeral Home had charge.

Mrs. Henderson was born September 24, 1960 to the late Tommy Hall and Gussie Hall in Panola County.

She had worked at Muscle Shoals Rubber Company for more than 15 years.

She leaves hr husband, Lewis Henderson; a daughter, Keasia Hall; three brothers, Jimmy Hall of Batesville, Billy Wayne Hall of Como and Ricky Jones of Sardis; six sisters, Ella Walton, Katherine Armstrong, Martha Pollard, Lisa Corley, Ollie Hall and Sherry Hall, all of Batesville; three grandchildren.

Kevin Ray Sullivan

BATESVILLE–Kevin Ray Sullivan, 53, died October 29, 2013 at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at noon today at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Howell officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born July 8, 1960 in Batesville, he was the son of the late Lee William and Lottie S. Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan worked as a welder and was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Crystal G. Sullivan of Batesville; his son, Chris R. Sullivan of Batesville; his sister, Brenda Jo Sullivan Heathcock of Batesville; two brothers, William Donald Sullivan of Batesville and Terry L. Sullivan of Laurel; five grandchildren.

Tilda M. Williams

COMO–Funeral services will be Saturday at Ruffin Grove Baptist Church in Como for Tilda M. Williams, 71, who died in Memphis on October 24, 2013. Burial will be in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today from 6-8 p.m. at Rodgers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and was the widow of Columbus Williams Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Doyle of Memphis; three sons, T.C. Williams, Fred C. Williams and Columbus Williams Jr., all of Memphis; two sisters, Barbara Ann Lark of Senatobia and Dorothy L. Coleman of Memphis; one brother, Willie B. Carter of Senatobia; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and eight great, great-grandchildren.
