Batesville Police Detective Paul Shivers said the manager of Sonic was making a deposit at First Security Bank on Power Drive when a black male wearing a hoodie and sunglasses put a gun to her head and stole the deposit bag with an undisclosed amount of money in it.
“His face was covered,” Shivers said.

“We encourage those making deposits to please call the Batesville Police Department and we will escort them to the bank,” Shivers said.

There is a cash reward for anyone who saw anything or has information leading to an arrest.
Call the Batesville Police Department at 662-563-5653. Ask for Detective Paul Shivers or Detective Tommy Crutcher.

This week’s armed robbery was the second in Batesville within the past 32 days. On May 26 a gunman robbed a clerk at the Batesville Exxon convenience store on Highway 6 East near I-55. A suspect has been arrested in that case.
