Panola County Emergency Management Director Daniel Cole reported shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday that trees were on three houses and several streets in Batesville were flooded. Smith Cleaners on Thomas Street is usually one of the most flood prone locations. A Batesville Police Car was stationed nearby attempting to slow traffic to avoid a wake by the passing autos to keep water out of the business. Batesville Creek which runs through the city was at top of its banks around 8 p.m.
