The North Delta Green Wave scored all the runs it would need in route to a 13-6 win in the district opener at Carroll Academy Tuesday night.
The Green Wave scored 10 runs, highlighted by a grand slam by Chase Coker, in top of the first inning. In all, the Green Wave had 16 hits in the game.
Carroll avoided the shutout scoring all six of its runs in bottom of the third on three North Delta fielding errors.
Carter Gant pitched four innings and got the win as he struck out two and gave up two earned runs.
Hitting doubles were Gant, Skyler Lawson and Austin Hagstrom.
Getting multiple hits were Ridge Simmerman, three; Lawson, two; Colton Robison, two; Hagstrom, four; and Coker two.
The Green Wave finished the series with Carroll yesterday in a doubleheader winning both games, 8-4, 14-2.
Barring inclement weather, the Green Wave are scheduled to be home tomorrow morning to host Pillow Academy in non-district action starting at 11 a.m. with the junior varsity and 1 p.m. with the varsity.
