The arrests followed months of investigation and surveillance.

Others arrested in the ongoing investigation include Jeroman Newman, Kendrick Phillips, Terence Cotton, David Gates and Alexander Robinson, Jr., all charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to sell.

More arrests can be expected, Franklin said.

Agencies who participated in the noonday and afternoon raids were Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Batesville Police Department, Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, the U.S. Marshals Service, Panola County Sheriff’s Dept. and the Panola County Narcotics Task Force.

Monday’s drug arrests in Como follow a series of arrests made over several weeks that included meth labs and other narcotics.

The Panolian reported June 15 that local authorities raided four meth labs and a suspected drug home in Sardis in recent weeks according to Sheriff Dennis Darby.
