The St. Jude Bass Classic will be held this weekend at Sardis Lake. Sign-in will be Saturday at Performance Marine from noon to 4 p.m. where Troy Landry of “Swamp People” will be signing autographs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday, the real contest will begin between the anglers at safe light around 5:45 a.m.
At 10 Sunday morning, the only woman Angler, Cathy Rosemond of Sardis, will have special guests on her 28-foot Pontoon.
A film crew from The Angler Show in North Carolina will be on board shooting a piece on the trotline for ladies she has invented. Also a patent agent will be on board. Instead of throwing a trotline “way out there” her trotline will drop straight down and be anchored at the bottom. There is a five-gallon jug at the top.
There will be a silent auction at the check-in which is open to the public. Concession stands will also be open.
Those interested may register for the tournament online at www.stjude.org/bassclassic or by calling Rick Lesley at 901-412-7683.
