SENATOBIA – Ira Jean Burnside, 54, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at her residence. She was the sister of Sherry Nunley of Como.
Services were held Tuesday at Independence Church in Tyro. Burial was in Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Como. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.
Burnside was a restaurant cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Burnside II.
Survivors along with her sister include: two daughters, April Burnside and Nicole Burnside, both of Senatobia; two sons, RL Burnside III and Andrew Saulberry, both of Senatobia; three sisters, Anita Newson and Johnnie Mae McClatchey, both of Senatobia and Andrian R. Jackson of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Darron Bobo, Stanley Bobo and Elbert Bobo, all of Senatobia and eight grandchildren.
SARDIS – Paula Jean Long, 44, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at her residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial will be in Surrette Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Jennifer Hudspeth and Kayla Lou Redd.
Survivors include: three daughters, Kimberly Hudspeth of Germantown, Jackquline Baggett of Sardis and Miranda Baggett of Greenwood; two sons, Lois Lee Hudspeth of Parchman and Barry Hudspeth Jr. of Truslow; her parents, Lavern and Lou Redd of Sardis; one sister, Donna Redd of Batesville; one brother, Ricky Thomas Redd of Batesville.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Paula Baggett Long Fund at Renasant Bank in Batesville.
BATESVILLE – Iris Jean Ridgeway, 74, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Trinity Hospice in Collierville, Tenn.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Ridgeway, born June 30, 1937, in Sumner, to the late Robert Floyd and Alma Howell Sanders, was retired from Panola Mills and was a homemaker.
Survivors include: her husband, Ronald M. Ridgeway of Batesville; one sister, Robbie Sanders Sartin of Batesville; her god son, Chad Gee Sartin of Horn Lake.
MEMPHIS – William “Bill” Baxter Jr., 77, formerly of Batesville, died Thurday, March 1, 2012.
Graveside services will be held at Browning Cemetery in Taylor at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Rev. Bill Pearce will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Tatum, born in Taylor on Sept. 8, 1934, to the late William Baxter and Connie Mae Smith Tatum, was a retired accountant in the hotel industry. He was a member of Rugby Hills Baptist Church and a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis.
Survivors include: one sister, Darby Kay Anderson of Walls.
