A tiger swallowtail butterfly is doing its part for the peach crop at McCullar’s Peach Orchard located on the Horace Browning place east of Batesville. A warm winter has caused the blooms to emerge about 10 days earlier than usual which might be fine for early consumption but bad if a late freeze comes along. Orchard owner Tom McCullar and consumers alike are hoping for mild weather. The Panolian photo by Rupert Howell
