Hayden Owen Cosby

COURTLAND– Hayden Owen Cosby, four-week-old son of Jessica and Chad Cosby, died Thursday, October 6, 2011, at his residence.

Services were held Sunday at Eureka Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors include: two sisters, Madison Freen and Haylee Brooks, both of Courtland; grandparents, Gregory W. Cosby Sr., Dera Henry and Tammy and Kerry Cox, all of Courtland, Rebra and Timothy Rice of Ft. Myers, Fla.; great-grandparents, J.W. Cosby Jr. of Courtland and Mary Starns of Paris, Tenn.

Ricky Wayne Henning

BATESVILLE – Ricky Wayne Henning, 42, died Thursday, October 6, 2011.
Services were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Blackjack Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Henning, born in Batesville, January 21, 1969, to Jeanette Stroupe Henning of Batesville and the late Willie “Billy” Dotson Henning, worked as an insulator for Tri-State Insulation. He was  a member of of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Oxford.

Survivors along with his mother, include: his wife, Kelly Williamson Henning of Water Valley; two sons, Brandon Henning and his wife, Courtney of Batesville and Brian Henning of Batesville; one step-son, Dylan Dorris of Water Valley; two brothers, Scotty Henning of Pontotoc and Danny Henning of Batesville; one granddaughter, Madison Taylor Henning and one grandson, Jamison Scott Henning.

Cagalee Wright Pough

POPE – Cagalee Wright Pough, 98, died Sunday, October 2, 2011, at her residence.
Services were held Saturday. at Pope Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church in Pope. Pastor Nehemiah Martin officiated. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.
Pough, born Jan. 14, 1913, to the late Ed Wright and Zillar Fox, was a member of Pope Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church where she was an usher, deaconess, stewardess and secretary of mission.

Survivors include: four daughters, Ethel Dean Harvey of Pope, Laura A. Sanford of Courtland, Carolyn Pough of Oxford and Rose Shannon of Blue Island, Ind.; one son, Climmie Pough Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia ‘Virgie’ Russell Fulcher Taylor

COMO – Virginia “Virgie” Russell Fulcher Taylor, 92, formerly of Yazoo City, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Como United Methodist Church. Rev. Tom Atkins will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral services.

Following the service there will be another visitation at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday with graveside services to follow at 4 p.m. in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Wiley P. Fulcher and W.S. Taylor Jr. of Como.
Taylor, born April 27, 1919, in Earle, Ark., to the late A.H. and Alice Fitzgerald Russell, was an assistant manager for Sears in Yazoo City for 25 years, and was a house mother at All Saints Episcopal School in the 1980s. Upon moving to Como she owned Fulcher’s Grocery. She was a member of Como United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Fulcher Jackson of Oxford and four grandchildren.
