BATESVILLE– Lillie Mae Henry Joyner, 86, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at her residence.
Services were Saturday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Hal Johnson officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Joyner, born March 10, 1925, to the late Oscar Wallace Henry and Ollie Johnson Henry, was a homemaker and a member of Courtland Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Jerry Joyner Sr.
Survivors include: one son, Eurel Leander Joyner Jr. of Southaven; one sister, Edna Henry Tidwell of Courtland and four grandchildren.
Karen Lynn White
BATESVILLE– Karen Lynn White, 47, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.
Services were Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Community Church. Sam Messina officiated. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park.
White was born Jan. 7, 1964, in Chicago, to William Joseph and Cornelia Marie White.
Survivors include: her caregiver and uncle, Charles R. Parish of Sherwood, Ark.; two aunts, Margie Parish Rogers of Nashville and Frances Parish Lavender of Ashland, Ohio.
Jim Wren
WREN– Daniel Wesley “Jim” Wren, 59, brother of Tommy Wren of Batesville, died at his residence on Friday, April 8, 2011. Born on July 4, 1951, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Charles Arthur and Frances Byrd Wren.
A graduate of Hatley High School, Itawamba Community College and Mississippi State University, he worked as an X-ray technician in Amory, a high school teacher in Fulton and Corinth, a diesel mechanic and truck driver before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and working on automobiles.
Other than his brother, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mona Addington Wren of Wren; daughter, Leigh Ellen Wren of Wren; sons, Israel Wren (Michele) of Wren and Noah Wren (Tara) of Amory; sister, Sandra Coleman (Leslie) of Caledonia; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Tim McMillen and Marshall Eubanks officiating. Burial was in Young Memorial Gardens in Smithville.
