Baddour FIshing Rodeo

The Baddour Center will host its third Annual Youth Fishing Rodeo Saturday, April 16th, which is about two weeks earlier than the previous two years.
“Hosting a successful event requires a lot of planning, and when it’s an outdoors event, a lot of prayers for good weather and sometimes re-evaluating the time of year the event is held,” said Karen Dunn, director of development and public relations for the center.
“We decided to move the date to the earlier part of Spring this year,” Dunn said. “We are praying for a gorgeous day, but the fish and hopefully fishermen won’t mind a rain shower. It’s the storms we are trying to avoid.”
Catfish are what will be biting in The Baddour Center’s normally private lake, located on The Baddour Center’s grounds at 3297 Highway 51 South in Senatobia.
Youth – ages 15 and under – are encouraged to pre-register but are welcome to register beginning at 7 a.m. the morning of the event. Registration will be followed by the competition from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., weigh-in from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., awards from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. and open fishing from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m.
The $10 registration fee includes lunch, and registrants are permitted to keep the fish they catch. Personal fishing equipment and bait is required.
