North Delta duo signs to play at NWCC

A North Delta duo signed to play for Northwest on Wednesday.

Vicki Johnson, center fielder, signed a national letter of intent to play faspitch softball while senior pitcher Ethan Taylor signed to play baseball.

Johnson has been a student at North Delta for four years.

She said she is excited for the chance to be able to go play college ball.

“I think it will be a great experience,” Johnson said. “I know people up there. I will be able to play with Hillari (Plummer) and Linsey (Hebert) again.”

Johnson plans to major in political science and transfer to Ole Miss after her two years at Northwest are completed. She wants to study law after she receives her undergraduate degree.

Taylor started playing baseball for North Delta during his sophomore year after moving from Winona.

“This feels good. I have always wanted to do this,” he said of the scholarship offer

He likes the coaching system, the weight program and how the baseball program is run at Northwest stating that is why he wants to attend Northwest.

“There are not a lot of people there and I will get to know everybody,” he said.
