After dropping the first two meetings between the two schools, the Starkville Yellowjackets got a measure of revenge on South Panola by defeating the Tigers 10-6 Tuesday night in a District 2-5A contest in Starkville.
The Yellowjackets (11-12), plated five runs in the bottom of the second inning after South Panola had taken a 5-3 lead in the top half of the inning.
South Panola, (12-8; 3-3) out-hit the ‘Jackets 11-6 in the game but commented three errors. Tyler Benson, Monroe Harrison, David Renfroe and Ethan Bright each had two hits apiece for the Tigers while Corbin Moore doubled. Colton Ales, (5-5) took the loss on the mound.
In a doubleheader that was originally scheduled for today but was pushed back due to weather, South Panola traveled to Columbus yesterday for a pair of district games. The Tigers visit Water Valley tomorrow starting at 1 p.m with the junior varsity game followed at 3 p.m by the varsity contest.
