Monday night games

Both the South Panola Lady Tigers and the North Panola Lady Cougars advanced to the second round of the North Half by winning the first game of the series.

The Lady Tigers defeated Horn Lake 64-42 behind the 32-point shooting of Sabrina Townsend.

The Lady Cougars outscored Palmer 34-19 in the second half to take a 54-39 win. Jenishia Jackson led the Lady Cougars with 15 points.

South Panola will travel to Tupelo, the site for the 5A North tournament, Friday at 7:30 p.m. to take on Greenville-Weston who defeated Northwest Rankin 57-49. Breanna Lewis led Greenville with 28 points.

The Lady Cougars will travel to Alcorn Central in Glen, site of the 3A North tournament, Thursday to take on Houston at 7 p.m. Houston defeated North Pontotoc 38-35. Houston was led in scoring by Tiffany PIerce with 14 points.
