ND’s offense shows up big in jamboree
By Angie Ledbetter
The North Delta Varsity Green Wave football team traveled to DeSoto, Ark. on Friday, to play in the jamboree hosted by the Desoto Thunderbirds.
They defeated Delta Academy 22-6 and ended the game against Marvell 0-0.
Head Coach Richard Russo was proud of his team in the Delta game but very disappointed with them in the game against Marvell.
Michael Johnson scored two touchdowns on passes from quarterback J.T. Dalrymple.
The pair had great connections. Bateman Greenlee recovered a fumble by Delta.
Hunter West scored on a one-yard TD run and Seth Barnett scored a two-point conversion run twice to give the team a 22-0 win over the Raiders. Making waves on defense were Britt Lawrence, Josh Garrott, John Paul Keel, Hunter West, Johnson, Blane Joyner and Cameron Goodwin.
In the game against Marvell, both team’s defenses were in top form and stopped the offense from scoring.
North Delta will open the regular season Friday with Strider Academy in Charleston.
