The Lady Green Wave ( 4-2 overall, 2-0 district) did lose two games in the Bayou Tournament.

Melanie Gaters and Mary Jane  “M.J.” Morrow made Lady Green Wave history throwing no-hitters Monday and Tuesday.

According to head coach Brooke Turner, this is the first time a North Delta fastpitch pitcher has thrown a no-hitter.

Gaters pitched the first no-hitter Monday against West Memphis Christian in Arkansas in an 11-0 district win.

Morrow pitched three-innings Tuesday for a 15-0 district win over Tunica Institute.

All nine batters scored in the first inning. Their speed was an asset as they took advantage of passed balls to advance bases and then score.

In the second inning, Gaters scored on a passed ball.

Bradi Beard started off the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with an inside the park homerun. Lauren Tidwell hit a triple to drive home two runs with Laci DuBravec and Victoria Johnson running for catcher Courtney McCullar.

Hitting for the Lady Wave were Beard, two hits, one homerun, one double; DuBravec, two hits, one RBI; McCullar, three for three with two hits, one RBI; Lauren Tidwell went three for three with two hits, one walk and two RBIs; Melanie Gaters went three for tree with two hits, one walk; Samantha Massoth was two for three with one triple; Linsey Hebert had two hits; Kathryn Eckles had two hits; and Morgan Lawrence had one hit.

The Lady Green Wave were back in action after two days of no games and practices mandated by a court order last week. The game with Magnolia Heights was canceled along with the Kirk Academy tournament.

The Jr. Varsity Lady Wave defeated West Memphis 14-0 and defeated Tunica 11-3. Against Tunica, Grayson Sims got the win. The Jr. Varsity Lady Wave are 4-0 on the season.

The Lady Wave took a week off and will be back in action Monday at Calhoun County for non district action at 4 p.m.

Tuesday, the Lady Wave will host Marvell in district action and Thursday will host Marshall in district action. The games begin at 4 p.m.
